Ronald Jerry Hanson passed away Nov. 28, 2010, in Reno, Nev., after a courageous battle with metastatic epithelioid sarcoma, a very rare form of cancer.

Ron was born in Minot, N.D., on Feb. 10, 1961. His family moved to Bozeman when he was 2 years old. He was a graduate of Bozeman Senior High School. During high school he worked for the Burgard family at Color World, which began his career in the printing business. He worked for many years as a pressman in Seattle and Reno.
Ron was an avid water and downhill skier and fisherman. He was a great lover of animals, especially dogs. His family and friends in Bozeman and Reno will miss his smile and mischievous spirit.
His parents, Maurice and Akiko Hanson, preceded Ron in death.
He is survived by his sister, Linda (Ron) Olson and brother Larry Hanson (Suzanne Haniuk), nephews Ryan (Jennifer) Olson and Shawn Olson, nieces Kelsie (Donavon) Frederickson and Jessica Haniuk, aunts LaVonne (Earl) Horsford and Lorraine Vincent, all of Bozeman; Joyce (Rod) Siegfried and Jerry (Joanne) Hanson of Tacoma, Wash. He has many close friends in Reno who he considered his extended family.
His family will have a private memorial service this summer.
