Sandra Sue Gentry Thomas was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Vernal, Utah, to Allen and Velda Gentry. She died Jan. 11, 2010. She fought a long valiant fight against cancer.

Sandra graduated from Uintah High School, and the following fall she attended Continental College of Beauty. She worked as a cosmetologist for one year, then decided to go to flight school where she became a flight attendant for United Air Lines.
Sandra married Kent Douglas Thomas on Sept. 6, 1969. They have three sons, Shane Thomas, Brock (Karyn), Logan (Heidi) Thomas; and five grandchildren, Mikayla, Kenna, Cole, Tayler, Cade. Sandra has lived in Denver, Colo.; Boise, Idaho; Morgan Hill, Calif.; and most recently in Belgrade.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very active. She most recently served as a counselor in the Relief Society; she was a primary teacher and also served in scouting.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Kent Thomas; sons, Shane, Brock (Karyn), Logan (Heidi); grandchildren, Mikayla, Kenna, Cole, Tayler, Cade; parents, Allen and Velda Gentry; siblings, Janet (Glendon) Simper, Pan (Kenneth) Sutton, Deborah (Chrismon) Bentley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at the Glines 1st Ward Chapel, 1270 West 1500 South. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services at the chapel.
Interment will be in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
