SHIRLEY JEAN BARNES
The Guest Book is expired.
Shirley Jean Barnes, 76, of Gallatin Gateway passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012. She was born on April 26, 1936 to Avil and Edna Hahner in Thief River, Minn.
Shirley moved to Washington and met Earl Barnes and they were married when Earl got out of the service. After they were married, they moved to the Gallatin Canyon and later to Gallatin Gateway.
Earl and Shirley had three children; one daughter, Susan, and two sons, Michael and Billy. She was a great mom; she had a good sense of humor, and worried about all of us.
Shirley worked at Glacier Mountain Cheese Factory in Gallatin Gateway and Best Western Motel in Bozeman. She loved riding horses, and taking care of her beloved cats and her dogs.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Susan; two sons, Mike (Sally) Barnes and Billy (Teri High) Barnes; one grandson, Michael; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Dehaan and Clara Lou Lemon.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Avil and Edna Hahner; her husband, Earl "Mike" Barnes; and her sister, Darlene Hahner. We love you Mom and we will miss you.
Memorials may be made in her name to Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59719.
The family would like to thank Diane and Les Barrier and all the staff at Elsie's Assisted Living for the great care they gave to our mom.
