Ted Hamilton of McAllister left us to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, June 4, 2010. Ted Ernest Hamilton was born Nov. 8, 1958, in Polson, to Bill and Lillian Hamilton.

When he was age 4, his family settled in Plains where he lived until he graduated from high school in 1977. Ted attended Montana State University, earning a degree in agricultural business.

On Sept. 12, 1981, Ted married Bonnie Gail Owens of McAllister. The couple had four children, Terrance Lynn, Catherine Adeline, Theron Dean, and Ryan Trevor. Ted was very active in his children's lives with 4-H, sports, Rodeo Bible Camp and various church youth activities.

As a young boy Ted loved his Tonka trucks and this was reflected in his work as an adult. He enjoyed driving big trucks, hauling equipment, and farming with the big tractors. Ted's employment included working for the state of Montana department of agriculture, equipment sales for Belgrade Equipment and Bozeman New Holland, driving for A.M. Welles, and most recently as contract administrator for Ranch Resources.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lillian Hamilton; his son; Terrance Lynn; and a brother-in-law, Blaine Owens.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Kate, Theron and Ryan; sisters, Betty Rude (Dan) of Missoula, Jeanie Pinkley (Gene) of Plains, Bonnie Carter of Lacey, Wash., Ruth Hamilton of Plains, and Penny MacCluer (Mitchell) of Maui, Hawaii; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, as well as many friends who will dearly miss him.

Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Madison Valley Baptist Church in Ennis, preceded by graveside services at 4 p.m. Pallbearers will be Doug Young, Sigurd Hovland, Monte Russell, Rick Ericksen, Scot McCoy and Brad Jones. Viewing at K&L Mortuary Chapel in Ennis will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are preferred to Madison-Jefferson 4-H or Rodeo Bible Camp in Sheridan.
