Trynea Yzenbaard died peacefully Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, Mich.

She was born July 8, 1919, in The Netherlands to Rijk and Cornelia (Visser) Vander Vos.
In 1929, Trynea immigrated with her family to the United States, settled in Amsterdam, Mont., and attended Armstrong School. In 1937, she moved to Kalamazoo.
Trynea married Marinus Yzenbaard on Nov. 28, 1946. She was a member of the Grace Christian Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, and was active in the Doreas Society.
Trynea was preceded in death by Marinus in 1990; a grandson, Eric Yzenbaard; and a son-in-law, Ken Back.
Trynea is survived by: four children, Karen (Dr. Ken) Kobes of Battle Creek, Mich., Linda (Fred) Miller of Kalamazoo, Norma Back of Sheboygan, Wis., and Dr. Rich (Jan) Yzenbaard of Ramah, N.M.; six grandchildren, Marcus (Cherie) Lynch, Dr. Michelle Lynch, Julie (Dave)Thuene, Jana Back, Jon Back and Joshua Yzenbaard; two great-grandsons, Noah and Jonah Lynch; three sisters, Maria Ickler of Las Cruces, N.M., Hattie Dyk of Waxhaw, N.C., and Coba Kammerman of Holland, Mich.; two brothers, Herman (Pat) Vander Vos of Bozeman, and Henry (Susie) Vander Vos of Manhattan; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held May 8 at Grace Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Dr. Harry Arnold officiating. Private interment was in Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery, North, in Kalamazoo. Memorials should be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Park Village Pines or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
