Wallace Ashford McLeod was born on June 21, 1917, to Malcolm and Blanche McLeod at Grand Rapids, N.D. They moved to Maddock, N.D. in 1925 where they farmed until 1931 and then moved to Divide to continue farming. Wallace was a 4-H leader and belonged to the American Legion and the DAV.

He served in the anti-aircraft and army from 1942-1946.
In 1942 he married Nora Myhre and lived on the family farm. To this union two sons were born; Blayne Wallace and Jimmy Darrell, both of Bozeman. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth; and his wife, Nora. He is survived by his two sons, Blayne and Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Barbara; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held at the Grandfield Church, Sheyenne, N.D. on Friday, May 2, 2014.
