Wilbur was born April 8, 1916, the son of Caleb and Ethel (Nett) Augustine, in Augusta, where he was raised and educated. He attended Great Falls High School.

Bunny worked at ACM as a smelter man. He then started with Coca-Cola, working his way up in the local bottling plant, retiring after 43 years.

He met Lillian Baluka in Great Falls in 1935. They were married in June 1937 and danced together for 60 years.

Bunny was a multi-sport athletic outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and playing hockey, baseball and golf. He was a Hall of Famer referee who officiated the first East West Shrine Games and retired after the 25th game. Following the war, the military flew four top-rate referees, including Bunny, from Great Falls to Fairbanks for the armed forces basketball tournament. Bunny was a life member of the Elks Lodge.

He served on the Great Falls City Recreation Board and with some friends, he helped start the Multi Sports Softball Complex, which later, they gave to the city.

Bunny was loved and respected by all. His handshake was his bond and deep respect for others.

He is survived by his children, Patricia (Buzz) Sawyer, Jay (Dianne) Augustine, Cale Augustine, Susan (John) Bodnar, and beloved friend, Darcy Salgado, all of Great Falls; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian in 1997; a brother, Robert Augustine; and a sister, Evelyn Hoskomar.
