William "Bill" Ambrose Marnin, 86, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Laurel Nursing Home. Bill was born Feb. 26, 1928 to Patrick and Helen (McCarthy) Marnin in Adair County, Iowa. He attended Adair schools and graduated in 1946. He received his B.A. from the College of Great Falls in 1958. Bill married Mary "Gina" Marnin in 1950 and they adopted as babies Michael, Patrick, Jeanine and Marybeth. They divorced in 1974. He was married to Dorothy Callison from 1980 until her passing in 2009.

Bill and family lived in Great Falls, Havre, Bozeman and his last four years in Billings. He served in the Air Force for four years, was honorably discharged in 1955 and worked for the Montana Power Company from 1956 to 1988 when he retired.
?Bill was a "happy-go-lucky Irishman" who enjoyed singing in choir, barbershop quartet and at weddings and funerals. He enjoyed telling jokes, camping, fishing and was an avid MSU Bobcat sports fan. He was proud of his 37 years of sobriety and credited A.A. for saving his life.
Bill is survived by his sons, Mike (Marilyn) Marnin of Billings and Pat Marnin (Janice Gearhart) of Wolf Creek; daughters, Jeanine London of Wolf Creek and Mary Beth (Philip) Anderson of Bear, Del.; grandchildren, John, Thomas and Tim Marnin, Jim London, Caleb (Jenny) Anderson, Jordan (Megan) Anderson, and Kelsi Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.??He is also survived by five step children, Kathy Ruegamer and Marie Meidinger of Billings, Wayne Callison of Fort Benton, Gale (Bob) Stringham of Provo, Utah, and Laurie (Wes Maynard) Rose of San Carlos, Calif.??A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
