Wilma Jean (Lefferts) Thorn, 78, of Anchorage, Alaska died Jan. 24, 2015 of natural causes. She was born March 31, 1936 in Lewistown, Montana the youngest of five children to Jean LaPierre Bacon. Family circumstances became such that the children were adopted out and she was adopted by Tom and Jennie Lefferts at the age of six months. She was raised and received her schooling in Lewistown until her marriage to Paul Ellery and they moved to Great Falls where they were blessed with two children Lois Jo and Anthony. They later divorced and she married Douglas Davis, he was serving in the military and they lived several places in Montana, South Carolina and Wyoming. They divorced after a few years and she later married Dale Noah. They rebuilt an old blue bus and traveled throughout the United States and Mexico having many adventures along the way. After their divorce she married Aaron Owen and they lived in Washington State for some years while both of them were working in the road construction industry, they also later divorced. Then Wilma seemed to find the "one" and married Neil Thorn and they moved to Alaska where they both spent the rest of their lives. Neil was a millwright but also could do many trades and Wilma worked as a waitress and school bus driver to name a couple of her occupations, as she too could do a variety of jobs. They were married over thirty years and enjoyed the fishing, hunting and outdoor life of Alaska. Wilma changed her name to Babe Jean Thorn after Neil calling her that for so many years. The family adjusted to the new name. Babe loved dancing, music, crafts and making dolls. Babe took a doll making class from the Alaska Cooperative Extension in Bethel, Alaska, learning to make native dolls using all native techniques and materials, the furs were all beautiful. These dolls are a cherished reminder of Babe. She was a great cook and enjoyed exchanging recipes with family.

Babe is survived by her son Anthony (Dee) Davis and their children Ryan, Tyler and Michael of Atlanta, Georgia, son-in-law Ron Cassatt and children Brandon, Justin and their children Marissa and Hayden all of Post Falls, Idaho, brother Mervin (Char) Lefferts of Bozeman, Montana and sister Carol (Rich) Riotto of Renton, Washington and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Neil, daughter Lois Jo Cassatt and her parents.

Cremation has taken place at her request in Anchorage, Alaska and inurnment will take place later this summer in the Lewistown City Cemetery with her parents. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com
