JoAnn "Jo" Lois Droge Spoelstra, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 30, 2014 in Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.

Jo was born Nov. 6, 1935 in Bozeman to Peter and Bertha (Weidenaar) Droge. Jo attended grade school and high school in Willow Creek, Mont. She married Edward Spoelstra July 31, 1957. They had one child, Jodene (Jodee). They lived in several towns in Montana and North Dakota and have lived in Bozeman since 1980.
Jo worked as a school secretary and was an active member of her church, as well as volunteering at Love INC.
Jo had many friends throughout Montana and North Dakota. Jo was a compassionate and caring woman, always showing concern to those hurting, sick, or grieving. Jo was well known for her delicious baking, dessert and candy making and used these gifts to show God's love to others.
Jo was a strong, loving and graceful lady, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Bertha, and her sister-in-law, Eunice Nieuwenhuis Droge.
Jo is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ed; daughter, Jodee (Gordy) Christian; grandchildren, Peter (Laura) Christian and Sam Christian; brothers, Al (Arletta) Droge and J (Nella) Droge, Betty Dyk; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., April 12, at Manhattan Christian Reformed Church. A visitation with the family will be held on Friday evening April 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. Memorials in Jo's name may be made to Love INC, P.O.
