Beverly Stephenson Lutkie, 95, passed away April 18, 2014 in Liberty Lake, Wash. She was born March 11, 1919 in Las Vegas, N.M., the only child and daughter of Edward and Theresa (Sweeney) Stephenson.

Bev's family moved to Butte, Mont. when she was an infant and she attended schools there including Girls Central Catholic High School. She then attended cosmetology school, becoming a beautician. Bev married Joe W. Barry in Butte in 1938 and as a Milwaukee Railroad family they moved to Lewistown, then soon after settled in Three Forks. Bev and Joe later divorced and in 1956 she married Tony Lutkie. Tony passed away in 1978. In 2012 Bev moved to Liberty Lake, Wash. to live with her daughter, Diana, and son-in-law, Mike.
Bev was a hard-working woman, who in addition to raising her family of four children, worked outside the home. She loved visiting with and serving people and owned and operated the Dew Drop Cafe in Three Forks. She later worked as a cashier at the Cut Rate Grocery Store for many years and she retired in 1986 as the manager of the Three Forks, State Liquor Store.
Bev was a woman of strong Catholic faith. She was a 60-year member of the Three Forks, Holy Family Catholic Church and after moving to Liberty Lake, St. Joseph's Catholic Parish. Though challenged by life events, including the drowning death of her son, Joe, in 1963, cancer and the struggles of family and life, Bev never wavered in her faith. She steadfastly trusted in the redeeming grace of her savior Jesus Christ and forgave and restored relationships that had been broken. Bev's faith walk has had a lasting influence on her family.
Bev was a long-time member of the Three Forks VFW, Ladies Auxiliary and the Holy Family Altar Society.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and son, Joseph E. Barry.
She is survived by her children, Carol Wheeler-Beadel of Las Vegas, Nev., Diana (Mike) Andriolo of Liberty Lake, Wash. and Steve (Laura) Barry of Helena, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Otis Orchards, Wash. A memorial service will be held in Three Forks, Mont. on Sunday, April 27 at 5 p.m. at K&L Mortuary, 103 1st Ave. East, Three Forks, MT.
