Marie Louise Benzinger, 53, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. Marie was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on June 26, 1956, to Jerry and Pearl Benzinger.

She attended Orchard Park High School and also received an associate degree from the State University of New York in Alfred. Having spent time visiting Montana, Marie decided in 1976 to make Bozeman her home.
Through her work at Rising Sun Leather, Marie was able to pursue her love of leather and bead work, embroidery and sewing as well as attending Mountain Man Rendezvous. Her other places of employment included Poor Richard's Book Store and Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
Marie loved to be outside and her favorite activities included tennis, sailing, skiing, gardening, swimming and camping.
Marie is survived by her parents; brothers, Mike (Sheila) Benzinger, Steve (Sue) Benzinger, Dave (Lynette)Benzinger, and John Benzinger; uncle, Jimmy, and many other uncles and aunts; her nieces and nephews, Peter, Magen, Jacob, Sean, Amanda, Jolene, Ana and Alex; and cousins, Bunny Larson and Suzie and Judy Benzinger. She had a very generous nature that drew many people close to her, among them her lifelong friends, Nancy and Kathy.
Everyone is invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 12, at Beall Park.
