Freda Marian Inlow, 86, of Bozeman passed away on August 15, 2012 at Birchwood. She was born May 13, 1926 in Bozeman to Fred and Sarah (Ring) Harvey.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was one of 10 children. With her father as a sawmill operator in the Gallatin Valley and Hyalite Canyon, her playground was a sawdust pile, and the whole outdoors was her backyard.
Freda attended schools in Bozeman, and married Lyle R. Williams on June 22, 1943 in Bozeman. She worked as a seamstress and in retail sales, but her most important job was raising their four children. Freda loved to ski at Bear Canyon and Bridger Bowl and play softball. She was one of the founding figures of the women's slow pitch softball league in Bozeman. She was involved in various organizations including the First Baptist Church, 4-H, Beta Sigma Phi, but she was especially close to all of her extended Harvey family.
Freda left Bozeman in 1976 and moved to Couer d'Alene, Idaho. There she met her second husband Walter B. Inlow and they were married on March 18, 1978. Northern Idaho was her home for 25 years where she was an active member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine. Walter passed away in 2003.
Returning to Bozeman, she resided at Aspen Pointe and enjoyed all the amenities offered there. She was especially fond of word puzzles, and Rummikub with her dear friends. Due to the close friendships and extraordinary care of staff and Hospice, she maintained her dignity and a rare sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Ann (Dave) Henderson and Rhonda Lee (James Hauser) Williams; sons, Kenneth Paul (Shelley) Williams, Charles (Chris) Inlow; sisters, Ethie (Norman) Brothwell, Elinor (John) Pinczes; sister-in-laws, Marcene Harvey and Sharon Harvey; brother, Richard Harvey; grandchildren, Lisa Williams, Scott Henderson, Quin Williams, Laura Williams, and Janine, April, Ryan, and Blake Inlow; several great-grandchildren; 30 nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lyle; her son, David Lyle Williams; sisters, Cecily Francis Lee, Alta Lucille Pinczes, Betty Gates, and Doris Ward; and brothers, Thomas Harvey and Samuel Harvey.
A life celebration will be at the home of Ken and Shelley Williams, 1000 Abagail Ranch Rd, in Bozeman at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012. Friends and family are invited. The family asks that memorials be made to The Bozeman Deaconess Foundation, with a notation for Hospice, 915 Highland Blvd, St. 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.
