Dustin Patrick Freese was born on June 11, 1996, in Bozeman. He passed away on Jan. 4, 2013, after being struck by a moving vehicle while walking with a friend. His organs have been donated and will save or enrich a lot of lives.

Dustin attended Heck and Quaw Elementary and Belgrade Middle School in Belgrade through seventh grade and eighth grade at Lockwood Middle School after moving to Billings. He was a sophomore at Billings Senior High and played freshman and sophomore football for the Senior Broncs.

Dustin loved to fish and spent a lot of time with his dad and his brother on the Yellowstone River, cat fishing. He went paddle fishing in the spring of 2012 for the first time, snagged a 50 lb paddlefish and was hooked. Dustin and his dad were best fishing buddies, and he loved his brother, Dillon as fiercely as he fought with him.

Dustin enjoyed shooting rifles, and prairie dog and deer hunting with his dad and brother and his uncles, Rod and Mike, and his cousins, Matthew and Andrew. Paintball wars were a favorite activity with Matthew and his gang. He spent a lot of time hanging out with his high school friends and was well liked and respected.

Dustin enjoyed watching comedy shows, playing Nightmare Room and telling stories with his uncles, Anthony and Aaron and cousins, Dominic and Nathan. The boys had so much fun going to the Bobcat playoff game in December with the Tangaros. Dustin loved to travel, and one of his best trips was going to Oregon with his aunt, Andy and uncle, Aaron for a family reunion. He had a great time in San Diego and Las Vegas with this mom, dad and brother for family vacations. He loved Xbox and had a lot of Xbox friends all over the country.

Dustin is survived by his father and mother, Brad and Stefeni Freese; his brother, Dillon; one grandmother, Dorothy Stieg; three uncles, Mike and Rod Freese and Aaron Stieg (Andrea); and one aunt, Sydni Tangaro (Anthony); four cousins, Andrew and Matthew Freese and Dominic and Nathan Tangaro; as well as numerous second, third and fourth cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wilfred Stieg and Fran Freese; and his grandmother, Pat Freese.

Memorials can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Yellowstone County.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at noon, Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Billings Elks Club.
