Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Anthony "Tony" Christopher DelVecchio (DEVO), 47, passed away March 28, 2014 of unknown causes at home with his wife, Traci Kirksey DelVecchio.

Anthony was born in Santa Clara, Calif. in 1966 and moved to Carson City, Nev. as a teenager. Anthony's life was dedicated to serving our country. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 20 and in 1991 he began his career as a U.S. Navy SEAL. He was assigned to SEAL Team 5 until 1996. In 1996, he became a Naval Special Warfare Instructor. In 1999 he was assigned to SEAL Team 4 where he served until 2001 when he started as Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL Instructor (BUD/S) until 2003. In 2003 he joined the Navy Parachute Team "The Leap Frogs" until his retirement in 2006. Since 2006 he has served overseas as a mobile security officer with SOC, LLC.

He is survived by his wife, Traci DelVecchio, and her parents, Steve and Janet Kirksey of Townsend, Mont.; his daughters, Breanna and Dani DelVecchio of San Diego, Calif.; his mother, Diane DelVecchio of Gilroy, Calif.; his sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Stephen Palazzolo of Carson City, Nev. and their children, Nick, Giana, Dustin, and Gabrielle and nine DelVecchio aunts and uncles.

Tony was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, father of two beautiful girls, and a great friend. Being a U.S. Navy SEAL was his most proud accomplishment. He had an amazing sense of humor, loved to drive around the mountains and be in nature, loved his Harley Davidson, Arturo Fuente cigars, and a good Scotch! He and Traci loved traveling together and doing just about anything together. He was the love of her life. As much difficulty as his life-long military service brought him relationally; it is what he was made to do. He would have laid down his life for his brothers without a second's thought. He was a rare person; a real-life hero!

Many of his military career friends have asked how they can be of support and suggested that his wife, Traci, create a memorial page as a way that they can help. It is http://youcaring.com/DEVO. Traci extends her personal thank you for the many kind words and incredibly thoughtful donations and wants you to know that your words are blessings and mean the world to her. She knows that Tony will always be watching over us all and that her heart will always belong to him.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 212 Broadway in Townsend. Please visit www.stevensonwilke.com to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Tony.
