Danny L. Gibson

Danny L Gibson, Palmetto, FL. Dan has enjoyed all the joys of living in Florida since 1986. He was born on Sept. 15, 1942 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to parents James R. & Lucy A. Gibson. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Barbara Gibson of Palmetto, FL, two daughters Cindy Hill( Dr. Jason Hill) of Wister, OK and Chris Magie of Sallisaw, OK and nine wonderful Grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother James R. Gibson, Jr. (Lynne) of Brentwood, TN. Dan passed away November 15, 2013 after completing one of the joys of his life - fishing. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He always looked forward to the fall of the year and football season so he could follow his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. Dan was a lover of all outdoor sports and activities and was an avid fisherman all of his life. However the greatest joys in his life were his wife, his children and the Grandchildren. He took enormous pride in the accomplishments of each of them. Danny was a graduate of Joplin, Mo High School. Following High School he joined the Army Reserves & spent six months on active duty & his remaining 5 and l/2 years in the active Reserves serving in an intelligence unit. Upon returning from active duty, he attended college in Ft. Smith. His professional career was spent primarily in the retail industry serving as a Buyer and Divisional Merchandise Manager. A private memorial service is scheduled for a later date.
