Ramona E. (Wallace) Baker, died in Sarasota FL, Nov. 25, 2012. She was 96. Ramona was the daughter of Stewart Wallace and Amber Johnson, and was born in Mt. Morris, New York on Sept. 23, 1916. She lived much of her life in Hamburg, New York, which is near Buffalo. While in Hamburg, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered for many church activities and events. She worked many years in the dairy industry in the Buffalo area, much of that time as Office Manager for the Upstate Milk Cooperative. Ramona moved to Ellenton, FL in 1977. After retiring, she traveled across the United States and to Europe. She enjoyed playing golf and hosting family and friends at her Florida home. She became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Parrish, FL. She remained active in the church for many years and held various positions, which included assisting the church with financial matters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman F. Baker, who died in Bradenton, FL in 1990, and her daughter, Carol A. Green, who died in Hamburg, NY in 1987. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Stephen Green (wife Kathleen Best) of Manlius, NY, Susan Green, and Stuart Green (wife Wendy) of Hamburg, NY, and great-grandchildren Caroline, Gillian, Stephen, Sarah and Bradley Green. A "Celebration of Life" for Ramona will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church, 9422 Old Tampa Road, Parrish, FL 34219.
