Ruth Bates, of Bradenton, died Monday Nov 12, 2012. She was born on Oct 9, 1915 in Buffalo, NY, and was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin. She is survived by her 2 sons, David (& Jane) and Richard (& Joyce), 1 daughter, Marianne (& Frank) Eaton, sister-in-law, June Bennett, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10-11 at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, followed by the funeral service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Tidewell Hospice or an animal rescue program.
