May 12, 1926 – May 10, 2014. A resident of Bradenton, "JR" passed away peacefully at his home last Saturday. He was born in Galion and raised in Crestline, Ohio and graduated from Crestline High School. The 1st of 3 children born to Harry R. Kraner and Violet V. Kraner, he was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife of over 61 years, Marilyn. He is survived by his sisters Bette King (Alan) of Punta Gorda and Karen Bender (Phil) of Sarasota. He was a supportive father of four children, David (Ruth) of Terra Ceia and Debra and Scott (Karen) of Bradenton and a second daughter Hallie E. Parson of Bradenton who died in 1999. Dad leaves his 3 living children with fond memories of the many fun times spent traveling around the US visiting our National Parks, and fishing trips, and many projects where we designed projects or repaired our cars. His grandchildren remember fun in the pool and garage saling. He also will be a great grandfather for the first time in august with a beautiful little girl. During his 60+ years he has lived in Bradenton he owned several businesses including Kraner's Automotive on 14th St. W. and Acres of Auto Parts on Saunders Rd E. He ran his businesses with the idea that low prices, good service and large choices people will come again and again. Harry was a life-time member of the Ma-sons and Trinity Methodist Church, and an army veteran of World WarII. At his request, there will be no formal public funeral service. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, he requested that memorials be sent to The Manatee School for the Arts in Palmetto and Tidewell Hospice for their wonderful care.
Be the first to share your memories or express your condolences in the Guest Book for Harry J “JR” Kraner.
