aged 96, of Maitland, Florida, died on April 13, 2016 after a short illness. Barney grew up in Toledo, and married Jane (Borkowski) there in 1944; they were married for over 71 years and had 3 daughters. Barney was employed by the Gates Rubber Company for most of his working life, ending his career as Regional Marketing Manager. At retirement, the Alesis moved to Palmetto, Florida where they enjoyed over 30 happy and active years with their good friends at Terra Ceia Manor. In recent years Barney and his wife Jane had moved to Maitland, Florida to be near their eldest daughter. Barney will be remembered as a doting and much loved parent and grandparent, and for the devoted and tender care he took of his wife Jane, especially in recent years. Barney is survived by his beloved wife, Jane, and daughters Karen (Jim) Gilbert of Lake Mary, Florida, Linda Alesi (Rick Chapman) of Blacklick, Ohio and Jill (Bill) Hamilton of Toledo, Ohio, granddaughters Caitlin Gilbert and Elisabeth Gilbert (Eric) Olson, grandson Jason (Natasha) Hamilton and great grandchildren Liam and Fiona Hamilton. Services will be private; in lieu of flowers, the family hopes those of you who knew him will simply think of a memory of Barney that makes you smile.
