Ashville, NC – formerly of Manatee County Florida. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Myra Raines. He is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Else Raines. He is predeceased by eldest daughter, Doris "Dee" Raines. He is survived by three children: Linda (Raines) Theiss, Christine "Tina" (Raines) Ashton, and Michael Raines; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 4 step-children: Peggy, Pam, Patricia and Paul; He had a distinguished 20+ year career in the US Army, with a tour in Korea and Vietnam and was awarded the following medal for service: First Oak Leaf Cluster to National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart. He was a member of the 53rd Street Church of Christ.
