93 of New Haven, Indiana died on Monday September 5, 2016. He was born on December 14, 1922 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Arthur D and Clara M (Kukuk) Kelker. Dave was a veteran of the US Army. He was a 44-year employee of General Electric Company retiring in 1984. Upon Retirement Dave and his wife Pat became Florida "snow birds" when they purchased a home in Ellenton, Florida. The first frost of each October they would leave south until the warm weather of the following May. Dave embraced tennis and he and Pat enjoyed square-dancing and many rounds of cards with family and friends. He was a member of St John the Baptist New Haven Catholic Church, as well as Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ellenton. He was a Third degree life member of the 451 Knights of Columbus. Surviving family includes his wife of 71 years, Patricia J (Schnieders) Kelker: sons Gerard A. (Dona) of Columbia City, David P Jr. (Cathy), Daniel C (Becky) both of Fort Wayne, Timothy J. (Donna) of Greenwood In and Patrick J (Jane deceased) of Fort Wayne, eight grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren, as well as 19 great-grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Besides his parents he is preceded in dead by a son Dennis M. Daughter-in-law Jane M Kelker and 8 siblings. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, Friday, September 9, 2016 St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, 943 Powers St. with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
