In loving memory of Dolores Lee Medcalf-Skelton-Bicek. Dee passed away peacefully in her sleep on her 83rd birthday, June 23, 2016. She was born in Danville, Illinois. She graduated from Northwestern University with a BS Degree in Nursing. She also obtained her Master's Degree in Adult Education from the University of South Florida. She enjoyed working as a Registered Nurse from 1957 to 1991. She was the Director of Education and Vice President of Nursing at Manatee Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and visited Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Alaska, and all the United States. After retirement Dee enjoyed competing in the Senior Olympics and the Huntsman Games. She ran the 100, 200, and 400 meter dash. She competed all across the country and in 2006 she was voted Wyoming Female Athlete of the Year by the Wyoming Senior Olympics. She always remained close to the Episcopal Church. History Day all across America was her late life passion, along with the American Association of University Woman, Danville High School Alumni, University of Illinois Chi Omega Sorority, MADD, and Death with Dignity. She was very proud of her four children, Robert Gerald Skelton of Severna Park, Maryland, Jennifer Ellen Ward of Radcliff, Kentucky, Julie Suzanne Johnson of Palmetto, Florida, Brian Clifford Skelton of Bradenton, Florida; and her three grandchildren. She frequently expressed her appreciation for her good health. She had a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, she requested that you give a gift to .
