Edward R. Rodgers, age 88 of Palmetto, FL passed away peacefully on September 15, 2016 at the Ellenton Hospice House. He was born on June 25, 1928 in Ironton, OH. Edward had worked for Hunter Packing Co. located in East St. Louis, IL for 33 years as a licensed engineer and supervisor. After retiring him and his wife Betty decided to relocate to Florida, where he worked for 10 years in the refrigeration department as a supervisor for Tropicana. Edward loved to go fishing, bowling, and upon retirement he taught himself how to golf, and played 2-3 times a week. He and Betty also loved going to the goodwill store to shop and dine out at restaurants together. Edward is predeceased by his son; Gary W. Foutch. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Rodgers; his three children Jay Foutch, Richard A. (Teresa) Rodgers, and Tammy (Robert) Williams, daughter-in-law Denise Foutch; his 5 Grandchildren, Kindi M. Donaldson, Leslie (Emerick) Neitzer, Austin J (Sarah) Foutch, Mason and Carter Williams; his 3 great grandchildren Anna Donaldson, Aurie and Ana Neitzer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice after the amazing care they have given to the Rodgers family.
