Eileen M. Parard, 91, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on Nov. 2, 2016. Eileen was born in Springfield, MA on June 10, 1925. Her family moved to Bradenton in the 1930s. She graduated from Manatee High School in 1944. She was married to Gene W. Parard, and they were married 41 years. She retired as Field Superintendent from R L Polk and Company in 1987 after nearly 20 years of updating the City Directories for many towns in Florida. She was very active in the American Legion Post 24 Auxiliary and 8 & 40 La Boutiques des Huit Chapeaux et Quarante Femmes. She served as President of the Auxiliary in 1955. For many years the Parard family cooked and served meals on Friday and Saturday nights in the Post 24 kitchen and provided intermission snacks for Bingo on Friday nights. Predeceased by husband Gene; parents Gerry & Alice Moore; and sons-in-law James Romeo & Harold Carell. Eileen is survived by 4 daughters: Mary Alice Carell of Largo, FL; Rita (Richard) Wonders of Bradenton; Kathy (Dan) Chastain of Bradenton; and Josephine Romeo of Bradenton. She is also survived by one son, William (Dorothy) Parard of Bradenton. Eileen is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Eileen was very active from childhood through midlife at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A funeral service will be held this Saturday, November 5th at 11 AM at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
