of Tampa, Florida passed away, Thursday, August 4, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Wellspring U. M. Church, 10701 Sheldon Road, Tampa, FL 33626, with Reverend Michael Freeman, officiating. The interment will be held Monday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL. Mr. Hunter, Sr. was a native of Bradenton, Florida and a resident of Tampa for 32 years. He was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial High School, Palmetto, FL and earned his college degree from Northwestern State University, LA. Mr. Hunter enlisted in the United States Army and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW2) after 20 years of honorable service. As his second career, Mr. Hunter, Sr. retired as a Sergeant from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Yong Hunter; three children, George Hunter and wife Teresa of Riverview, FL, Pamela Barrett (Hunter) and husband Reginald of Tampa, FL and Errol Hunter, Jr. of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Jaaron Barrett, Devan Barrett and Trevor Barrett, all of Tampa, FL, George Duncan Hunter, Gavin Hunter and Kevin Hunter, all of Riverview, FL; brother, Walton Hunter and wife JoAnn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister, Rose Williams and husband Thomas of Bradenton, FL and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and neighbors. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 12 at Wellspring U. M. Church and the family will receive friends.
