Frank R. Overton Jr., 84 of Palmetto, passed away Feb. 27, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbie of 64 years; son Jeffrey, daughter Sharon(Donald) Gamble; brother Donald (Alice) Overton; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Family was his passion. He was born in Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1950. He served over 20 years in the Army National Guard 1st BN, 116th FA. retiring in 1984. After his military service, he worked many years in mobile home sales. In 2007, he dedicated his time to volunteering at Blake Medical Center, which led to a fulltime position assisting in the Physical Therapy Dept. He took great pride in this job, sharing stories of his family with patients and coworkers alike, until he retired in 2014. Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with services to follow at 2:00 p.m on March 3rd, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 East Lake Ave., Tampa, FL. 33610.
