died on February 8, 2016 in Bradenton, Florida. Born on August 25, 1926 in Greenup, Kentucky she was ninety years of age. Mrs. Salyer was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul Salyer, Sr. She is survived by four children, Linda Salyer, Beverly Salyer and Sandy Salyer all of Bradenton, Florida, a son, Paul Salyer, Jr. and wife Flicka of San Antonio, Texas and grandchildren Bryan Lankenau and wife Amy of Seattle, Washington and Kristi Wlodarczky and husband Chris of San Antonio, Texas. Beloved, family-like friends of Mrs. Salyer's include Gary and Gayle Gore of Bradenton, Florida, Wade, Michelle and Hannah Gore of Northport, Florida. Curtis, Wendy and Eli Odum of Pensacola, Florida and David and Natalie Vakauta of Bradenton, Florida. Among her many endearing traits, Mrs. Salyer was a devoted wife and mother, an avid reader and a loving, caring and hospitable friend to all who knew her. As a devoted Christian and a member of the Bayshore Gardens Community Church, her faith was her guidepost in life. Her many friends of all ages were always welcomed into her home and around her dinner table. Mrs. Salyer, always an energetic person, was an achiever. She earned her licensed practical nurse status at age forty and her realtor's license at age seventy. A memorial service for Mrs. Salyer will be conducted on Sunday, February 21 at 1:00 PM at the Bayshore Gardens Community Church located at 6228 26th. Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34210 with Reverend Dr. Daniel Herlein officiating. Mrs. Salyer's life can perhaps be described by a line from Bessie Anderson Stanley's poem Success, "He had achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much". She was truly blessed to have experienced all of these. Donations in Mrs. Salyer's memory can be made to Bayshore Gardens Community Church.
