of Bradenton, Florida passed away December 14, 2015. Jackie was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 12, 1958 to Joseph M. and Nancy Ann (nee Bowsher) Havens. She moved to Bradenton in 1969 from Michigan and graduated from Manatee High School. Jackie sought a career in law enforcement and retired from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office after 27 years of protecting and serving. After retiring, Jackie took a job with EGS call center. Jackie enjoyed sewing, especially baby blankets, a skill that she was proud to pass on to her children. She was quite the cat enthusiast. Jackie loved her feline friends and cat collectibles. She was a big supporter of the DAV and helped any way that she could. Jackie was also an advocate and promoter of "Project Traverse," an organization made possible by Trail Walker Gear. Jackie cherished her family and made every moment count. Her family was her life and friends were family, too. Her smile, her laugh and her kindred spirit will be deeply missed by so many. Jackie attended Bayshore Baptist Church, as well as, Sacred Heart Church. Jackie is survived by her mother, Nancy Havens, sons; Timothy (Alicia) Findley, Patrick E. Ordaz and fiance, Leanna, stepson, Michael Findley, stepdaughters; April Bishop, Holli Harden, sisters; Linda (Scott) Hoeksema, Barbara (Michael) Gladstone, and her precious grandkids, Liam Findley, Kylie Findley and Lorraine Ordaz. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Havens and stepson, Martin Findley. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 2pm-3pm at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm and will be followed by a committal service at Skyway Memorial Gardens.
