4-16-1922 - 8-8-2016 Jean was born in Kane, Pennsylvania along with her twin William, the first of a tribe of four siblings born to William and Marie Gabor. After WWII, Jean moved to San Francisco, then Hawaii and from that home base, she travelled the world. She met and married former prisoner of war, Armand Desauliniers and they moved to Bradenton where Jean's parents had retired and made it their home as well. Together Jean and Armand built a business and raised a family. They enjoyed their tropical life of boating and fishing. Her passionate pastimes were knitting and gardening, especially her glorious orchids. And, after the age of 92, she unapologetically took up cheating at cards. But most of all, Jean loved to entertain family and friends and everyone was one or the other. She loved to make a party of life. Though Jean had her fair share of challenges she took the lemons and made the best lemonade. You could never be down with Jean around. No matter where she went people gravitated to her generous heart and loving ways. She was our love and our light. She is predeceased by her husband, Armand, her brother Bill and sister Joyce and survived by her sister Vivian, her daughter Linda (Mike) Sheehan, her son, Steve (Carole) Desauliniers, granddaughters Tatiana and Natasha Desauliniers, granddaughter Tiffany (Rick) Hale, great granddaughters Brooke and Amber Hale, and nieces Christine Dickinson and Patricia (Richard) Motasky. She passed peacefully at the age of 94 in the company of her family and friends. Please help us celebrate Jean's generous spirit of giving by supporting the staff of Tidewell Hospice who gave her such wonderful care and comfort. Donations may be sent to: Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St W. Bradenton, FL. or call 941-552-7500 to find out the many ways in which you can help.
