91, of Ellenton, FL, passed away on December 18. Preceded in death by wife, Alicia Ceil Jackel. WWII veteran and retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber. Member of Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Elks, volunteer for Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels. Survived by children Jerry Jr, Bonnie Plesco (Blake), Sandy Cronin and Jody Coopmans (Cory), 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his rescue dog Mimi. Burial at Sarasota National Cemetery on January 21 at 9:30am followed by 11:00am mass at St. Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church at 12001 69th St. East, Parrish, FL with luncheon at the church immediately following. Donations to or Southeastern Guide Dogs can be made in lieu of flowers.
