John "Elwin" Russ, born August 8th' 1943, age 72 and Diane G. Russ, born September 30th, 1953 age 62 of Myakka City, Florida passed away of February 6th, 2016 doing what they loved and will be together forever. Both lifelong Florida residents, they were married 46 years and loved to fish, hunt and farm. Blessed with their two sons John E. Russ Jr. and James A. Russ, whom they loved dearly. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army & U.S. Army Reserves. He was a farmer, commercial fisherman and owner/founder of Myakka Well Drilling LLC. A jack of all trades, there wasn't much he couldn't do. John could always be counted on for his support, ready to lend a hand or a kind word when needed. A loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. John was greatly respected and will be just as greatly missed. Diane's family was everything to her. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a tireless worker that always thought of others before she ever worried about herself. Most recently she was employed as a Department Manager at Wal Mart where she was both well liked and respected. Diane's smile and laugh where so genuine that they would light up a room. She enjoyed the simple things in life, never taking anything for granted. She loved to travel and spend time with family. A loving, kind and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. John was preceded in death by his parents, Dollie and Alfred Russ. He is survived by his two sons, John and James, siblings Laughton Russ, Richard Russ, Alberta Rodriquez, Mary White, Ruth Tree and Kyle Russ as well as several nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded by her mother, Irene Pindar, brothers Richard Tierce and Dennis Tierce, and sisters Donna Godfrey and Darlene Patrick.
