Lois Louise Meinke Hammond Swanson, 90, died in Bradenton on Sept. 10, 2016. She was born Oct. 8, 1925 in Harmony, Illinois to John & Emma Meinke. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Hammond; son, James Hammond; husband, Clinton Swanson; brothers, Edwin & Raymond Meinke and sister, Dorothy Meinke. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Curt) Monson of Countryside, IL; sister, Alvina Leetzow of Bradenton; grandson, Anthony (JoAnn) Materazzo of Woodridge, IL and great-grandsons Luca & Marco Materazzo; step children, Clinton (Jennifer) Swanson, Sandra (Dean) Nakayama, Terry (Karen) Swanson, Paula (Ron) Bilyew, Joan (Rick) Bittle, Wanda (Scott) Leeman and many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. Lois was active in the Bradenton Legion Auxiliary & the 8/40 Salon of Bradenton. Prior to moving to Bradenton, she was an active member of the Huntley Legion Auxiliary. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 15, 2016, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Huntley, IL. www.GriffithCline.com
