Marilyn Barry Codd, 85, of Bradenton died July 25, 2016 at the Tidewell Bradenton Hospice House. She was born on April 25, 1931, on Staten Island, N.Y., to Pauline and Bertrand Barry. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward B. Codd of Bradenton; daughter, Mary E. Codd and son-in-law, John Giglio of Hollis, NH, granddaughter, Elizabeth Codd of Kansas City, MO, brother, Bertrand Barry, and sisters, Carol Iannace, Paula Meisel, Veronica Coyle. She was pre-deceased by one brother William Barry, and one sister, Therese Wall. Marilyn attended Hunter College, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1952. She worked as a graphic artist for the IRS and Allstate Insurance, and as a fine artist and craftswoman throughout her life. She was active in the Bradenton-Sarasota arts community, exhibiting her artwork in shows and selling it in local shops. Marilyn was a member of the Manatee Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bradenton, and the Hunter College Alumni Association. A memorial service will be held at the Manatee Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in a few months. The date has yet to be determined.
