Marylene T. Hilliard, 85, of Bradenton passed away November 23, 2010. Born in Newbern, Tennessee she moved to Sarasota in 1930. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church since 1953, Manatee County Historical Society and Service Club of Manatee County. Marylene was also active in the Parent Teacher Association, Christian Women's Club, Junior Woman's Club, Junior League of Manatee and at Saint Stephens Episcopal School during the early stages of development. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dozier Brown Hilliard. Survivors include her sons, Dozier Lee (Juli) Hilliard, William 'Bill' (Sharon) Hilliard; daughters, Julianna (Ty) Ross, Mary Alice Hilliard; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, 10:30-11am with service following at 11:00am at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the Bishop Animal Shelter, 5718 21st Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34209.
