Maxine Scarborough, on February 29, 2016, Maxine took the hand of our Lord and quietly left us all. Maxine was born on December 10, 1919 in Bradenton, FL. She was the daughter of the late Oscar W. & Delta Mattison of Bradenton.
She graduated from Bradenton High School in 1938. She later met her husband, Harvey and they were married in August of 1941.
Maxine worked for the Manatee County School's cafeteria until she retired. Maxine loved to travel. She became an avid tea drinker and always had her cup every morning along with her crossword puzzle from the daily newspaper. In May 2006 she moved to Tampa where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law.
She is preceded in death by one grandchild. Maxine is survived by her three children, Maxine Safford (Russell), Sarah Crews (David) and Harvey Scarborough, Jr. (Belinda); nine grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; sister, Jane Johnson; four nieces.
Though she will be sadly missed, she will always remain deep in our hearts. A quote from Winnie the Pooh, "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay forever".
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Lifepath Hospice "Blue Team" for the loving care that was given to our mother. Each one of you are so special.
A private graveside service will be held at Fogartyville Cemetery. www.GriffithCline.com
