74, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on April 1, 2016. Michael was born in Bridgeport, CT. During his early childhood, he attended a Catholic Parochial School. As a young teen, through a mutual friend and a simple car ride, Michael met Rosemarie E. Grosso, and their love story, that would span just a month short of 55 years, began. Michael spent his entire working career as a mechanic and welder in the automobile industry. He and Rosemarie began a family and moved from Connecticut to Florida in 1972. Michael was a hard working man, always provided his best for his wife and children and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Michael was fortunate to be able to take the time to watch his grandchildren while allowing their parents to work, nurturing that special bond between a grandchild and grandparent. Michael had a soft spot in his heart for animals, children and for the elderly. His quick wit and sometimes unsolicited opinions will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. Michael F. Gulas is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Gulas of Bradenton, FL, daughter, Jeneen (Michael) Thorp, of Bradenton, FL, dear sister, Marie McNellis, of Newtown, CT, half brothers, Tom (Becky)Gulas, of Belen NM and Michael E. Gulas, of Peralta, NM, grandchildren; Ryan Thorp, Alexis Gulas and Ashley Gulas, daughter-in-law, Chrysta Gulas as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; Michael F. Gulas and Louise Caiola Gulas and by his and Rosemarie's son, Brian Gulas in 2008. A Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, April 9th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm in the glass chapel of Skyway Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael's name may be made to the Bradenton Hospice House. Arrangements have been entrusted to Skyway Memorial Funeral Home, Palmetto, FL.
