Morton Leon Isaacs, Age 84, went home to be with the Lord on December 14th. He proudly served his country in the Navy, received his Masters degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and was an exceptional high school teacher for 35 years as well as an active community servant. Amongst others, he was an advocate of children's and veterans' welfare, the environment, and wildlife. Mort enjoyed gardening, playing tennis, skiing, and volunteering as coach and mentor to thousands of young people. He was elected to the School Board and continued to volunteer for 12 years, serving also as President. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane, his legacy also includes two cherished daughters and five grandchildren. Mort will lovingly be remembered as husband, father, grandfather, friend and patriot. Internment at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, St. Judes Hospital for Children, or the Parkinson Disease Association.
