Percy Hamilton (97) died November, 6 2015. Born on a farm in S Illinois he attended University in Colorado where he married his wife, Ruth Norris. He saw 23 years' military service including periods in N Africa, Italy, France and Korea. He retired from the Air Force in 1971 as Lt. Col. and moved to Bradenton where he passed the Florida Bar exam and set up a legal practice. He retired in 1999 and spent six years caring for his wife Ruth before her death in 2006, after 63 years of marriage. Percy was a proud member of Bradenton Kiwanis for over 25 years. He was a kind, caring person with a good sense of humour. His family is grateful for the care and support he received from the Spirit of Unity Church, Bradenton, Freedom Village nursing staff and Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota in the months before his death. Percy was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Bob and his daughter Hilree Brokken. He is survived by his sister Mary Jo Matthews, his son Mark, daughter Gayle Gill and sons-in-law David Gill and Kyle Brokken. Please send donations to Tidewell Hospice in lieu of flowers.
