83, Palmetto, died November 8, 2016. Born in Boston, MA he moved to Palmetto in 2001 from Sterling Heights, MI. A Veteran of the US Navy during Korea, he was the Executive Vice President of Reilly Plating Co. of Melvindale, MI, he attended Holy Cross Catholic Church, and he was a member of the Moose Lodge, ELKS Lodge and the American Legion. Predeceased by parents, Charles and Leona (Hickey) Grooms; survived by wife of 55 years, Joanne of Palmetto, FL; son, Charles (Karin) of Mishawaka, IN; daughter, Valerie (David Hemmings) Kozikowski of Grand Rapids, MI; grandson, Jonathon. Memorial Mass 12:30PM, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Inurnment with Military Honors 12:30PM Friday, November 18, 2016 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
