Of Swartz Creek, age 72, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her residence in Bradenton, Florida. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Avenue, Grand Blanc, and MI 48439. Reverend G. Patrick England officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. A memorial service will be held at Faith UMC in Bradenton Florida at a later date. Contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Grand Blanc UMC. Visitation 3-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Sandra was born in Dallas Texas on July 6, 1943, the daughter to the late William and Clara (Johnson) Harris. She was an educator in the Flint Community Schools as a teacher and principal for 36 years. Sandra loved taking care of children and helping them out. She was very active in the Sarasota/Bradenton Shell Club. She was awarded lifetime membership in the shell club. Sandra was also very active in the churches, Grand Blanc UMC and Faith UMC. She loved to read and belonged to the Book Club in Bradenton. Everyone she met thought she was an angel. Sandra was an accepting and forgiving person. She volunteered for everything and had everyone around her volunteer also. Sandra helped organize and was very active in the Perico Island Social Club. Surviving are husband, Michael Johnson; children, Kathy (David) Rice, Darien (Leslie) Pillow and Julie (Angie Snyder) Trealout; step-children, Paula (Steve) Loomis, Michael (Ceil) Johnson and Laura Michaels; grandchildren, Monica and Michael; great-grandchildren, Damari and Miguel; step-grandchildren, Allie, Colin, Addie and Erin; brother, Eugene (Paula) Harris; sister, Elaine (Gary Hibbs) Roberts; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
