Van C. Brown, 79, Bradenton, died August 2, 2016. Born in Baltimore, MD he moved to Manatee County in 1963. A Veteran of the US Air Force during peacetime, he was a member of Wounded Warriors, the NRA and he retired as the Supervisor of Engineering for the City of Palmetto. He was on the Board of Directors for the Manatee County School of the Arts and a coach for many years at GT Bray for football and baseball. Survived by wife, Susan Miller Brown of Bradenton, FL; sons, Stan, Jimmy and Matthew all of Bradenton, FL; daughters Debbie of Bradenton, FL, Kim Juomville of LA and Joanne of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Norris of Bradenton, FL; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life 2:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Family Residence. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
