of Bradenton, Florida and formerly a long-time resident of Dutch Neck, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Son of the late Walter and Rose Conover, he was pre-deceased by: his wife, Frances; sister, Dorothy C. Mather; and brother, George W. Conover. He is survived by: his son, Walter F. Conover III ("Mike") and his wife, Susanne; daughter, Ruth Ann Conover; and daughter, Frances C. Lewis and her husband, Dennis; 6 grandchildren and 11 great children. Born in Dutch Neck, Mr. Conover was a graduate of the Mercersburg Academy and a US Army Air Corps Lieutenant who served as a navigator in World War II. He was very active in business and community service throughout his lifetime. He was a former owner of Nassau-Conover Motor Company in Princeton, NJ. He was an Elder and Clerk of the Session of the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church, member of the West Winsor Township Board of Education, former President of the Dutch Neck Fire Company and Master Mason of the Cyrus Temple in Trenton, NJ. Mr. Conover was also a member and of the Whitfield Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, Florida.Mr. Conover enjoyed a long and active retirement pursuing a wide range of interests, travel and above all making lasting friends of all he met as an especially kind, giving and humble man. He will be missed. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am in Dutch Neck, NJ on Saturday June 18, 2016. Burial will be private in the Dutch Neck Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Walter to the Whitfield Presbyterian Church 7045 N Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
