Wilfred H. "Bill" Partridge Bill Partridge, 80, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Solena Beach, CA, died March 16, 2010. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 29, at 11:00 am at the Waterlefe River Club, 995 Fish Hook Cove, Bradenton, Florida 34212. Bill was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 42 years, Loise "Lee" Janney Partridge. He is survived by his loving partner, Janet Stepp of Bradenton, and four children, Bruce, Randolph, Charles and Robert Partridge all of Illinois. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Shirley King, and a half-sister, Karen Longfield both of Ohio. Bill served in the Marine Corp from 1948 to 1952. After attending Howard University on the GI Bill, he went to work for Marriott Corporation and later for American Restaurant Group. His long career in the food industry took him all over the world, accumulating over two million miles with the airlines. Bill was an avid fisherman and was the organizer of the Monday morning men's golf group at Waterlefe Golf & River Club, a group that is still going strong. His hobbies included working with stained glass and remodeling homes. Bill was the ultimate gentleman who's twinkling eyes and quick wit endeared him to his many friends. He was described by his former colleagues as a man of integrity and great kindness who saw the good in everyone. Even in his fight against pancreatic cancer, he never lost his optimistic manner or his belief in God's goodness. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to Bayside Community Church, P.O. Box 20997, Bradenton, Florida 34204 or to TideWell Hospice, Inc., Philanthropy Department, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238. Funeral arrangements were made through Griffith-Cline Funeral Home. Final interment will be at the Richland Center Cemetery in Wisconsin with his wife, Lee.
