5/4/1927 – 12/31/2015 Winfred C. McGee of Bradenton, Florida passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 31, 2015. He was 88 years of age. Winfred is survived by his son Jerry, two daughters Alane and Gina (Denny), four grandchildren, Nicholas (Dallas), Amanda, Timothy, William and one great granddaughter Mackenzie. The youngest of three children, Winfred was born in Ellisville, Mississippi. Winfred was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam, his parents Van Buren and Tiny Mae and his brother, Alva and sister Myrtle.In August 2015, Winfred and his loving wife celebrated 61 years of marriage. Winfred was an active member at West Bradenton Baptist Church and for many years served as a deacon in the church. He shared the love of Jesus with each person he met not with just words, but in his whole way of life. Winfred proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and during his service he was decorated with a Victory Medal. He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years and Lakewood Business Park after 33 years. Winfred, with his loving wife, worked on excavation sites in Sepphoris, Israel with The University of South Florida for 17 summers. We give God all the glory for a very full, happy and blessed life. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2015 at West Bradenton Baptist Church, 1305 43rd St. W., Bradenton, FL.
