Zane Anthony Zavadil, 19, of Bradenton, Fla., died April 9, 2006.
A lifelong resident of Manatee County, he was a 2005 graduate of Manatee High School and was attending the Fire Academy at Sarasota County Technical Institute. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and of Young Life. He was a 4-year varsity wrestling letterman at Manatee High School, who placed 4th in the state at 152 lbs. He was a cadet at West Manatee Fire Dept. and was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was the beloved son and champion of Richard and Jennifer Zavadil, of Bradenton, and was also survived by sister, Emilee May Zavadil, of Bradenton; his true love, Lauren Fortson; paternal grandmother, Florence C. Zavadil, of Bradenton; maternal grandparents, William and Jean May, of Bradenton; aunts, Martha Kutz, Sarah Orendorff, Mary Mikalson; uncles, William May, Jr., Peter May, Alex Zavadil; cousins, Samantha Fairman, Justin and Andy Kutz, Nikki and Josh May, Abby Navarro, Cari and Paula Mikalson, Stephanie and Alexandra Zavadil.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 13, 6-8p.m., at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Island Chapel, 6000 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach. Service will be Friday, April 14, 10a.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3011 19th Avenue West, Bradenton, with Rev. Daniel Hagmaier officiating. Burial will be at Palma Sola Community Cemetery.
