"Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather, openings in heaven...where the love of our lost ones pours through, and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."
Dear Joe,
No one can possibly know the sadness you are now feeling. But, I like thinking the above little poem is true. I hope you find it comforting.
Thinking of you,

Joe, So sorry to hear of your loss. As is the case in many airline friendships I didn't know Gale, but having known you I know she must have been a person of worth. Please know you have my condolences.

Joe,
I'm so sorry that you've lost your dear and beloved Gale. I've noticed as I've gotten older how much more I'm affected by the passing of a friend's loved one...even if I've never met them. Perhaps it's the creeping reality that I (or Barbara) will someday experience what you're experiencing now...and that deep, resonant, connective sadness comes as I think about you and your loved ones.
Words are never appropriate enough, healing enough, or comforting enough, so just know that I care about you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe,
What a sadness to learn of Gale's passing. Gale was such a gentle and gentile lady. It was always a pleasure to see her in the crew and I was delighted when you two married. She left a wonderful legacy with you in your two girls. Our thoughts are with you.
