65 of Hazard, Kentucky passed away on June 19 at his childhood home. He was born on April 27, 1949, one of nine children of Mahala and James Couch. He lived in Bradenton where he owned his own business and raised his girls, then retired to his hometown of Hazard. He was most proud of his two daughters, Haley Kay and April LeAnn as well as one granddaughter, Ava Lyn. He is also survived by sisters Evelyn, Wanda, Linda, Elizabeth, Donna and brothers Paul and Billy Ray along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Danny. David served in Vietnam with the 1st Calvary Division of the US Army and was awarded the Purple Heart among other meritorious badges. Arrangements are being handled by Engle-Bowling Funeral Home, 301 East Main St., Hazard KY 41701. Services will be held Monday, June 23 at 2pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington KY 40504
