Dexter Rankin

Dexter N. Rankin, 60, of 551 Interstate Parkway, passed away suddenly on Sunday (Sept. 8, 2013) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born May 7, 1953, in Bradford, he was a son of Malcolm R. Rankin, who survives, and the late M. Helen Tremblay Rankin.
A 1972 graduate of Bradford Area High School, he was employed at Futures Rehabilitation Center for 39 years and was renowned for his productivity. 
He was active in McKean County Special Olympics and had competed at regional and state level events. He also enjoyed playing bingo, attending sporting events, movies and theater presentations. He loved to read and spent countless hours at the Bradford Area Public Library. 
In addition to his father, Malcolm Rankin, he is survived by one sister, Linda Rankin of Richardson, Texas; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Rankin. 
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., East Main Street, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Futures Rehabilitation Inc.; St. Bernard Church; Bradford Area Public Library; or a charity of the donor's choice.
