Daisy Korbar

1922 - 2015

SHEFFIELD - Daisy S. Korbar, 93, formerly of Sheffield, passed into the next life Friday (Oct. 9, 2015) in Warren Manor following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 14, 1922, to the late Frank and Mary Mohar Sluga in Westline.
Daisy was a 1941 graduate of Hamlin Township High School and later Westerbrook Business School in Olean, N.Y. During World War II, Daisy worked at the Wright-Patterson Plant in Buffalo, N.Y., and later in Rochester, N.Y. She retired from Swanson, Bevevino Law offices in Warren after many years service.
A member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, she enjoyed gardening, traveling and especially polka dancing.
Mrs. Korbar is survived by a sister Norma Batista of Mount Jewett; two brothers, Howard (Nellie) Sluga of Bradford and William (Dot) Sluga of Mount Jewett; three stepsons, Stanley Korbar of Selingsgrove, Robert Korbar of Sheffield, and Rodney Korbar of Youngsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death in August 2008 by her husband Stanley Korbar whom she married July, 1971; four brothers, Frank, James, Charles, and Edgar; and three sisters, Mary, Julia, and Helen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Sheffield with the Rev. John R. Neff, pastor, officiating. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Borden-Lloyd Funeral Home immediately preceding the service. Burial will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery, Kane.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
